Commitment issues...

So we've been tackling an eye sore in our family room. This is the room where we will be
watching tv, enjoying the fireplace, and it's open to the kitchen and breakfast nook for good
party mingling. Our fireplace was a dark brown brick wall with two partial built ins. We have been working a little here and there this week to complete it. We will have a full post soon when we are finished.

But, for now, we've been building inspiration for what we would like our statement wall to look like. We are thinking tones of rich blues and golds for this room so the accent pieces will really need to pop on our neutral walls and trim. We mentioned before that all of the trim is going to be painted Benjamin Moore's White Dove so naturally the fireplace will be the same. We have to choose a wall color that will look good continuing through to the breakfast room and kitchen. Let's just say we are having major commitment issues right now...with paint! We know we want a gray but the tone of gray is the question. Taupe undertone, like Moonshine? Blue undertone, like Marilyn's Dress? It's major debate. What are your thoughts? When it comes to paint, do you prefer a cooler tone or warmer tone in your home?

  1. Having trouble visualizing since I still envision the current look... How about I just bring some moonshine and we can paint random colors all over the wall to see what looks best. I hear you can get free paint samples?!?
